I have a 3,5 months old dalmatian dog. May i use a flea collar?

I bought a flea collar, but after i got home, i read that it’s just from 6 months old. is it a big problem, if i use it for my 3,5 months old puppy?

Because of the chemicals used to produce flea collars, you should not use it on a dog under the age of 6 months.
