Where could I buy a dog coat for Winter for my Dalmatian puppy? And ways of keeping him cool in Summer?

We’re possibly getting a Dalmatian in October, and I’ve heard they need coats in the Winter because the cold gets them so bad. Where could I get a normal dog coat online? (Like not the idiotic bomber jackets etc.) And how could I keep him cool in the Summer? I’ve heard of people walking their Dallies in wet t-shirts but surely they’d dry out pretty fast?

Nice and normal “dog blankets” styled like horse blankets can be bought through the online horse supply stores.

    Such as

    (Scheniers saddlery)

For cooling, my dogs favorite product is the
Canine Cooler Pad made by soothe soft.
NOT the imitations that are slightly cheaper.
My dogs LOVE their cool pads and will seek them out.

I have a rainproof coat for my puppies because when they get wet, they get cold and start to shiver.

When they have the coat on, they just walk as normal.

However, you don’t want your puppy to become soft and not want to go out in the cold weather so be careful about which coat you choose.

There are lots of websites that you can buy coats off and if you are in the UK, you could try Pets at Home (US Pet smart).

My dogs love ice cubes so I give them plenty of them in the summer to keep them cool.

You could also get a child’s paddling pool in your garden and fill it with cold water if your puppy likes to play in water.

Make sure it has access to fresh, clean drinking water at all times and somewhere in the shade to rest away from the sun.

Never give ice cubes to an overheated dog, this will cause bloat like symptoms, I know someone whose bulldog died after being given ice to cool them down.

Walk the dog in cooler weather, when the sun is going down. Bring a water bottle for the dog to drink from and spritz their coat. Always have fresh cool water, NOT cold, like I said never ice. You don’t need to walk the dog in a wet t-shirt as long as you walk when its not hot.
